Screening after vaccination
In this lecture Karen Canfell describes the evidence base and implementation of a new national HPV screening programme in Austrailia
Cervical screening programmes must balance harms, benefits and costs when making decisions on screening tests and intervals. The transition from morphology based screening using cytology to HPV screening is a current challange for many countries. In many cases it corresponds with the arrival of vaccinated cohorts to into the population screened. Austrailia was the first country to embrace comprehensive vaccination against HPV and their experience in setting up a HPV screening programme is a useful look into the future for other national programmes
